Neurodiversity-affirming Speech Therapy for children
Serving children in Northern Delaware
Clinic now open in Wilmington, Delaware!
we provide speech, language, and reading therapy for all kinds of minds.
At Have Your Say Speech Therapy, we specialize in supporting autistic children, late talkers, reading skills, and children with communication delays and disorders.
Rather than focusing on what your child can’t do, we emphasize all they can do. Before working towards communication goals, we will always make sure that your child feels regulated and connected.
Our sessions are tailored to what your child needs each day. We incorporate therapeutic strategies into play and follow your child’s interests— allowing us to support their communication in the most authentic way possible.
Parents and caregivers are always welcome to join in and learn new ways to help communication grow every day!

our Speech, Language, & Literacy services
Autism Support
Whether your child is non-speaking or uses echolalia to communicate, our goal is to empower them to say what they want to say! By building a relationship of trust, meeting their sensory needs, and following their interests, we will encourage your child to communicate in the way that works best for them— using spoken words, gestures, sign language, pictures, and AAC technology.
speech therapy for Late Talkers
At Have Your Say, speech therapy is easy to weave into play and daily routines! Working closely with parents, we focus on teaching language strategies that can be used anywhere. Together, we will give your child the skills they need to use new words, build sentences, follow directions, answer questions, express their needs, tell stories, and more!
Reading & Writing Intervention
Did you know that listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all connected? That’s why our approach to reading intervention combines principles from speech and language development with Orton-Gillingham methods. Given specialized literacy instruction, your child will improve their sound and letter skills, decode words successfully, and become a confident reader and writer.

Hello, I’m Payton! I am a pediatric speech therapist in Wilmington, DE, who loves working with children of all ages and neurotypes. My diverse clinical experience stems from a variety of settings, including early intervention, outpatient clinics, school settings, and private practice.

Ann Marie Gardner, M.S. CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Hey! I’m Ann Marie, a speech-language pathologist that loves every moment of what I do! I’m originally from Hershey, Pennsylvania, but after earning my Bachelor’s and Master’s at Penn State (We Are!), I found myself in Delaware where I have been lucky to be providing speech therapy for kids like yours in schools, homes, and clinics.
I have a strong clinical and research-based background in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices, as well as sign language and autism. My approach to therapy is rooted in the neurodiversity paradigm, emphasizing compassion over compliance. I believe every person deserves to have their choice to communicate in the way that feels most natural and meaningful to them.
Each session with me is personalized, child-led, playful, and collaborative--designed to make therapy feel fun and empowering. One of my favorite things to do is partners closely with families to ensure that skills learned in sessions carry over into everyday life, creating lasting and functional progress. Above all, I am passionate about helping each individual find their voice—their way—to say what they want, how they want, when they want, and to whomever they want.
Katie Dearborn, M.S. CCC-SLP
Speech-Language Pathologist
Hi there! I'm Katie, a speech-language pathologist with a passion for supporting communication in all its forms. I have specialized training in Gestalt Language Processing, AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication), literacy development, language development, and speech sound disorders—including both apraxia and phonological disorders. I'm also PROMPT trained and bring a hands-on, sensory-rich approach to my sessions.
I take pride in using a child-led, neurodiversity-affirming framework that honors each child’s unique way of learning and communicating. My goal is always to create a safe, engaging space where children feel empowered to express themselves—whether with words, devices, movement, or play.
With experience across early intervention, school settings, and outpatient therapy, I bring a flexible, collaborative approach to meet families and children where they are. I truly believe in building strong connections and celebrating every step forward, no matter how small.
